Background History

On 2nd February 1998, Pyay Institute of Technology (PIT) was established in accordance with Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) (27/1998). In accordance with (73/1998), PIT was named as Pyay Technological University (PTU) on 1st July 1998. The undergraduate classes were officially inaugurated on 27th December, 1999, By the order of MOST (25.1.2007) and in accordance with (041/2007), Government Technical College (Pyay) was incorporated and coalesced with Pyay Technological University on 20th January, 2007.

Pyay Technlogical University is located in Pyay Township, Bago West Region, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. It is located beside the highway road of Pyay and Paukkhaung. It has an area of 123.3 acres.
